My current role is at Liveire Mobile. LiveWire Mobile, a subsidiary of NMS Communications, is redefining mobile personalization—with a comprehensive suite of services is designed to empower mobile subscribers and fuel the success of the operators mobile music business. At Livewire I am responsible for all aspects of marketing the portfolio of products and managed services which include full track download, ring tones, videos, and ringbacks. My teams activities include product roadmap, market messaging, strategic partnerships, product propositions, market analysis, bid & proposal production, financial modelling, pricing and world wide sales support.

In June 2005 I joined NEC Europe where I was responsible for the team dedicated to promoting NECs Value Added Services (VAS) product portfolio towards the European operator and ISP market. This portfolio currently included Mobile Advertising, i-mode and associated services, DRM, streaming, A-GPS, IP messaging and transcoding. Day to day activities and responsibilities included: new product development process and concept development, customer trials, roadmap management, market intelligence, European marketing and sales support, demand requirements and management, strategic partnerships and business development, RFI/RFP/RFQ preparation.

In June 2004 I moved to Global Content Services based in London where I was responsible for the entire Ring Back Tones (RBT) commercial and marketing proposition. I managed the commercial team that is made up from the product managers of 12 Operations Companies (OpCos). I was responsible for the product roadmap, the commercial and brand proposition, the global project budget and the supplier relationships. I also managed the interfaces to other Vodafone departments and external organisations such as User Experience, Supply Chain and our content partners. 

In August 2001 I joined Vodafone Global based in Germany a member of the Global IT and Technology Management Group. Responsible for the Global core network evolution of the Vodafone 3G roll out program. Other key projects included IP and content optimisation for Vodafone Live! and Vodafone Office, Global IP network (GIN), corporate push e-mail services and most recently Ring Back Tones. 

In November 2000 I was assigned to Vodafone - Malta to act as the Core Network Switching Manager responsible for the IN platform team, Switching team and BSS team. Duties include architecture and topology design, MSC/BSC configuration management, IN platform and IN services. In addition to this I am responsible for the MSC/BSC software upgrade specification, the evaluation of new features and the testing, verification and integration of new network elements. I also oversee the capacity planning and forecasting, numbering plan and BSC/MSC dimensioning. I am currently the line manager for 8 staff and my responsibilities include performance appraisal, training and coaching, as well ass additional recruitment.

In August 2000, for a period of one month, I joined the Vodafone operation in Nairobi - Kenya to assist with the with the re-launch and expansion of the Vodafone owned network - Safaricom in Kenya. Once again offering my knowledge of numbering, interconnect, accounting and international roaming to provide Safaricom with the competitive edge over the competition.

In 1999 I applied, and was excepted for the international secondment to build the new Vodafone network in Hungary. Responsible for all interconnect design, dimensioning and testing as well as the switch type approval and certification.  I was responsible for the design of the Vodafone numbering plan as well as the interconnect accounting  principles and associated MML. More recently I have been heavily involved with aspects of the national roaming that Vodafone currently has with the other Hungarian operators: Pannon and Westel.

In 1998 I was seconded for one year by Vodafone to Egypt to assist with the establishment of their new network - Click GSM. Here I was responsible for all the technical aspects of the interconnect with the OLOs as well as the complete development of the roaming procedure and technical solution. I was also involved with the acceptance and commissioning of additional MSCs and service nodes as the overall subscriber base grew.

In 1996 I was was invited to assist with the establishment of International Roaming by Libertel in the Netherlands. Using the knowledge of GSM signalling and my understanding of testing methodologies I assisted from initial contact, to the final End-to-End testing of all telephony based features to allow international roaming. 

After my graduation I applied to and was selected by Vodafone Ltd. based in Newbury. I was initially hired and trained as a systems test Engineer working on the development of test scripts, specifications and  software for the validation of the Vodafone switching, service and IN nodes. Here I gained my understanding of of GSM principles and signalling protocols as well as a good general knowledge of the "system development lifecycle".

I graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1995 with a degree in Electronic Engineering. During that time not only studied the theoretical aspects of electronics and communications but I also had the opportunity to put some of knowledge into practice by working for one year as a design engineer for Hitachi and then the following year Fujitsu in Tokyo - Japan.
